The museum is a true reproduction of a Packard showroom from the 20's. There are 22 pristine Packard motor cars from the 1900's to the 1940's, all in full running order. The museum is located at 1527 Packard Avenue (SW 1st Avenue), Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in an 18,000 square foot Art Deco building which is stocked with thousands of pieces of memorabilia as well as a gallery dedicated to the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Packard Motor Company Memorabilia Arthur Stone, former CEO of Buning the Florist Inc., and his wife Shirley began collecting Packard memorabilia for their museum in the mid- 1940's, at which time the Packard was the Rolls Royce of Courtesy The Fort Lauderdale American automobiles. Arthur Stone established the Fort Lauderdale as a non-profit foundation (501.C.3) to ensure the preservation of the history of the Packard Motor Co., and to show the progress and development of skills in American engineering. After twenty years of research and five years of planning and construction, this special genre of American history came into being the Fort Lauderdale , Inc. Dual Cowl Phaeton and Other Exhibits The museum has thousands of pieces of memorabilia as well as a gallery dedicated to the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt. There are hundreds of old dashboard clocks that must be hand wound on a daily basis. There are hood ornaments from all makes of cars, rare carburetors, period side lamps, custom gear shift knobs and much more. There are Roadsters with compartments for golf Courtesy The Fort Lauderdale clubs, a doctor's coupe with a compartment for his medical bag and a 1929 645 Dual Cowl Phaeton that can self-lubricate its chassis as it drives along the road.
